Everyone's asking what Claude Fable 5 changes. For me, the answer is: my workflow finally works.
I've been running the same system for a few months. Pull feedback from Slack/Videos, hand it to an agent, validate at the end. I call it the human sandwich, you at the start, machine in the middle, you at the end. The model would trip up before. Miss something, overdo something, need me to step back in. Workflow in theory, mostly.
Now it just runs.
This weekend I pointed it at Slack: pull everything @bran_don_gell said in the last two days. Analyze it. Queue it up. Agent does the list. I'll check the end. Sunday the same thing worked too. 30 fixes in one batch, conflicts checked, single review. Before that was 10 things one at a time, a review after each.
Same work. One third of the back-and-forth.
That unlocks a question I wasn't asking before: what's the next thing to automate?
The workflow works. So now I'm looking at what's still manual inside it. Right now, the manual part is me being the one who pulls the feedback in the first place. I'm still the thing standing between Slack and the agent. What if I'm not?
So today I started building the next layer: automatically pull feedback on a schedule, run it through an evaluation against the vision doc and the personas, surface what's worth doing, and present it to me. I say go. Agent handles the rest. Human still in the loop, but at the decision point, not the collection point.
And this is where I think the model jump actually matters: it's not for making agents more capable, but for making it possible to trust the evaluation step.
You can make anything. Unlimited ways to build, that's actually the problem now, not the solution. If you have bad signal, unlimited capability just means building the wrong thing faster. What matters is finding the gold, the feedback that's actually aligned with your product vision, from the people who actually understand it.
Screen recordings over screenshots, by the way. A recording carries intent. Someone saying “this feels a little off” while you watch them hit the button, that's the signal. A screenshot is just a moment.
