we’re seeing the importance of ai having its own computer.
by computer, we dont mean its own gaming pc, or its own macbook, mac mini, aws server.
but its own place to live and to operate.
we were living in stage 1: ai living in its own context of whatever u feed it. like chatgpt, just text convos.
stage 2: could have been cursor and claude cowork, where it has access to a designated folder/ecosystem.
now we’re at stage 3: your entire computer. file systems, multiple folders, the web, social media (which is infinitely large) leading to infinite possibilities.
at @zocomputer, we were anticipating a stage 3 at the very beginning, thats why we created our world.
most people are in stage 1, but the gatekeeping is crazy for these new stage 3-esque products. its too complicated, and honestly too scary to set up for those who aren’t always going to updated with the latest tech, and aren’t technical.
but we believe everyone should have their own ai with its own computer, and help their lives. you, you coworker, your sibling, your mom.
here are a few things everyone can set up today for your daily life.
first, ask yourself.
these are my answers for solidarity: 1. for me, its scrolling on social media. finding new things to make, but also keeping up with a bunch of stuff.
2. i dread responding to emails and texts honestly. i overthink a lot.
3. my goal is to wake up earlier
4. i forget to follow up on plans and see who i need to make plans with, or things that i want to explore.
