Terms
These terms cover Open Mic. The Tech Twitter homepage is available without an account. Other content pages require Sign in with X, which also supports Open Mic submissions.
Signing in
Tech Twitter uses Sign in with X, run through Supabase Auth. Tech Twitter uses it only to learn which X account you are. It never posts, likes, follows, or sends messages for you, and it never sees your X password. Sign out on the Open Mic page ends the session in that browser.
Who can enter
Your X account must have fewer than 10,000 followers, be at least 90 days old, and not be private. The post must be your own original post, not a reply or a repost, and less than 7 days old. A quote post counts. You can enter one post a day, by the New York calendar day, and each post only once.
What entering allows
When you enter a post, you let Tech Twitter show it with your name, handle, and avatar on the homepage, the Open Mic page, and a share page for the entry. Each one links back to the post on X. Claude, an AI model, checks every entry and scores how useful it is before it shows. Tech Twitter decides which entries show and in what order.
Removal
If you delete the post on X or make your account private, the entry comes down within a day, and the daily check deletes its stored text. Every entry is deleted 30 days after its entry day. To remove an entry sooner, email [email protected] with the post link. Tech Twitter can hide any entry and can bar any account from Open Mic, for example for spam, abuse, or posts that are not your own.
Changes
Open Mic can change or end at any time. The date above marks the current version. The privacy notice lists the data Open Mic keeps.
