Feature request for X iOS @nikitabier We need a history tab of what we saw So that when we saw some video but we forget it or lose it we can go back
X really is the Forum Romanum of our time I think A place where anyone can post anything and if it resonates it rises to the top of the global conciousness And then it gets debated by other people, and if they have good counter arguments, those also rise to the top And everyone learns in the process It's rapid collective iterative thought development on a global scale
I keep thinking of this term in my head because it's so good "Shotgun to Sniper Strategy" @marclou coined it You want to start with a shotgun strategy where you try lots of ideas, launch lots of projects, MVPs etc. add a Stripe buy button to everything Then see what really gets traction, goes viral, makes money (!) and then what keeps making money over time (like months) Then you wanna sniper and focus on that project to make it big
This is bait but let's bite Sundar Pichai ran Google into the ground for years Then Sergey Brin returned to Google, lead the AI department, de facto taking over from Sundar Because AI was and still is the biggest threat to Google I still don't know anybody who uses Google Gemini instead of ChatGPT but I do know a lot of people now using their APIs (incl myself) Nano Banana in particular was a mega hit And that's thanks to Sergey Brin returning I also think he should become CEO again
Something is finally happening! EU is: - scaling down the GDPR (data privacy laws) - watering down the AI Act (more like AI Ban), and - finally removing the Cookie Banner laws This gets us a bit closer to the top eu/acc ideas being reached https:// ideas.euacc.com/?sortBy=upvote s%3Adesc …
People keep asking me "are you working on something new?" and I'm not and it's because I don't have any real new ideas or problems to solve? Also AI in 2022 was groundbreaking you had the first image model, then the first real LLM, then video a year later, then 3d Now most of it is iterative, the image model is better, the LLM is better, the video model is better, everything gets better So there's less stuff to jump on for me technologically I think unless I go deeper and develop it myself I guess What's weird is most of my friends I ask "do you have any new ideas you're working on?" and they also have nothing, maybe it's some collective thing (I don't know so that's why I post it)
This doesn't work because a "product launch" isn't what it was 10 years ago anymore Back then you'd launch on Product Hunt and you'd get thousands or tens of thousands of users overnight and journalists would pick it up after A lot has changed since then Firstly, nobody cares anymore, there's too many products and things launching and unless your product is completely groundbreaking and new, a launch won't get much attention anymore Secondly, these days you essentially should be launching every day non-stop: you try get attention from potential new users, posting new features you build based on user requests, tapping into trends you see and then jumping on them You even see it with AI companies now, they just add the new version like Grok 4.1 or ChatGPT 5.1 without a big presentation. Just roll it out and improve the product for users So yes launching is dead I think
X algo has never been so good @nikitabier did his thing So much interesting stuff at the cutting edge of society, memes, tpot, dating, tech startups, AI etc At least that's my algo Lots of bangers but also posts with tiny engagement I see that are intellectually stimulating
There's so many fake MRR screenshots on here, but you can't really prove it, except that generally it takes people years to even make a successful project and then many more years to build up substantial revenue It took me years to get to $10K/mo revenue! Seeing people join X, then post $50K-$100K MRR screenshots within weeks, then disappear a year later, obviously seems like a scheme to extract money from you Which is when they post, reply "GAMEPLAN" so they can sell your their course It's a racket and you shouldn't fall for it or believe it
I think @OfficialLoganK should be Google's next CEO A young fresh guy coming from the AI world fully dedicated to AI should be leading the company that wants to lead in AI He's multi-disciplinary having been both an ML engineer, working for NASA and OpenAI and also doing product leadership with customers on here directly implementing stuff we ask for while agressively cutting through Google's bureaucracy Exactly what Google needs for the long term
Really cool website I discovered today called http://flightqueue.com which lets you check the live arrival queue time for any airport in the world Very useful with European (and some American) airports now just becoming by default very slow when you arrive to get through immigration If anyone knows the founder, I'd love to add this data to http://Nomads.com and let it affect the ranking because arriving in a place fast and smoothly is a big part of what makes it attractive to travel to (for me)
It's crazy AI startups raise money at about 10x the amount regular startups would Obviously because they need that kind of money to train foundational models And foundational models is how you get independence from or negotation power with your suppliers (like Anthropic and OpenAI)
When I see laptops full of stickers nowadays it looks kinda cringe to me It was normal though 10 years ago I wonder what exactly changed in culture to make it cringe?
