One of my greatest joys is catching up with algorithm engineers: You can explain a very human complaint—like the Timeline is too sensitive to small actions—and then they calmly walk up to the whiteboard, draw out a mathematical solution to it and invent a completely new area of machine learning research And then they explain it to me like I’m a 5 year old.

The hardest part about hiring great leaders for X is that you need someone who can be an outstanding voice on the platform -- but also someone who is exceptional at trench warfare (i.e., sweating the details of the user experience and handling the daily chaos & creativity of bad actors).

Ladies and gentlemen, it's time to pass the torch and demote myself to my natural state: a poster. I'll be stepping back from leading product for 𝕏 and will continue on as an advisor. Serving the X community has been the privilege of a lifetime. X is, and will remain, the most important communication technology in history.
