I heard a rumor that Shopify was their biggest client for those first 2-5 years and they built the whole Stripe experience and product around Shopify, which then enabled them to scale to other small businesses as Shopify was an excellent use case to focus on before expanding. Every pre PMF startup needs to find their Shopify, or group of Shopifys.
