My take is that I am fine with those who want to turn on disappearing messages for various purposes, but I wish people would use them less and things we not lost to history so often. I have a principle of not turning on disappearing messages myself.

@DKokotajlo I'm in Signal groupchats with friends that have disappearing messages on despite not being particularly sensitive, just in a Snapchat spirit of 'this is more like talking aloud than like Slack'.
