Three cheers for Intel and their support of Linux! I got to work with some of their engineers on the initial compatibility work for Omarchy with the Dell XPS because @MichaelDell opened the channel and @SpencerGBull carried the signal. Just great people, great CPUs 👏
Today, Linux celebrates its 35th anniversary and the remarkable journey of one of the most influential technologies in computing history. In 1991, a young Finnish developer named Linus Torvalds purchased his first PC, powered by an Intel 386 processor. After spending time learning x86 assembly language, Linus shared publicly that he was developing a free operating system as a hobby, marking the beginning of Linux. The history of Intel and Linux runs deep, and we've had the privilege of watching it grow from a humble passion project into the world's largest open-source OS. Together with the Linux community, we've helped drive innovation across everything from PCs and data centers to cloud, edge, and AI.
