more seriously, one bit of advice i have to anyone trying to do the startup thing no matter where you live, 99% of people around you are pretending to do the thing they will draw you into activities that feel like doing the thing but are all pretend it's especially hard in cities like SF that feel like it's made for startups, very easy to be fooled into thinking you're making progress the job is to avoid this
