Apple as the Distribution Layer for AI Companies

i was wrong about Apple's AI play and you probably were too... i thought the endgame was obvious: > build insane hardware > run powerful local models > keep everything on-device for privacy makes sense right? except apple signed a multi-year deal for google to power siri with gemini they tested openai, they tested anthropic... they picked google so what's the real play? apple isn't trying to be an AI company... they're trying to be THE distribution layer for AI same way they became the distribution layer for music (itunes), apps (app store), and payments (apple pay) they get to own local privacy and outsource the massive frontier models they'll probably run local AI for sensitive requests, light work... and then route to Gemini (but through their secured cloud) for the rest
