King Slide Works is up there with Toto Toilet as underrated AI winner: ▫️Up 3,000% to $43B in past 4 years. ▫️In 1980s, the Taiwanese firm started in furniture (cabinet handles, kitchen drawers). ▫️Expanded to specialized server rails in data centres (controls 70%+ of high-end server market). ▫️85-year old founder Lin Tsung-chi worth $16B and was briefly Taiwan's richest person a few weeks ago. ▫️Modern server are quite heavy and complex; King Slide’s rails ideal for data centre workers to pull out racks and do maintenance on chips and wiring without disrupting setup or cooling system. ▫️Per Bloomberg, King Slide first started making server rails in 2000: “A critical moment came about [in 2000], when it was forced to pivot from furniture hardware to the server supply chain after a major US customer demanded a 30% price cut during the rise of Chinese manufacturing. Rather than accept the lower prices, King Slide walked away, a decision that led to the loss of nearly half of its workforce.
