This is true and also why the Spark strategy is playing out well. It's a replay of the OpenGL war SGI started. Nvidia embraced. Microsoft took on w/D3D. Quake rebuffed. Apple warmed up then split; went its own way w/Metal. Lessons of importance of H/W ecosystem learned.

I spent 12+ years building Apple products, and one thing has me looking at a Windows laptop. It's CUDA, the thing most AI tools run on. The Surface Laptop Ultra with NVIDIA RTX Spark puts 128 gigs of memory and CUDA in a bag I can carry, and the magnetic charger holds on so well I can lift the laptop with it. On paper it's a yes. I'm living on it for a week before I decide if I switch. .@Surface and .@nvidia sent me this unit to test.
