The most powerful surveillance camera ever shown on television was built from 368 cellphone camera sensors. A court eventually banned the airplane it flew on. The camera came back anyway, and this time there are 120,000 of them. The footage is DARPA's ARGUS-IS, revealed on a PBS Nova documentary in January 2013. BAE Systems engineer Yiannis Antoniades opened up a smartphone on camera, pulled out the 5 megapixel sensor, and explained they had wired 368 of them together behind telescopic lenses.…
