The frontier labs have now cut off three paying customers mid-contract in 18 months. Anthropic pulled Claude from Windsurf days after reports OpenAI would buy it for $3B. Anthropic later revoked OpenAI's own API keys over benchmark testing. Now OpenAI is shutting off Cursor on November 12 because SpaceX closed a $60B acquisition. Cursor's CEO named the assumption that just died. He said they'd trusted the model providers to be "neutral infrastructure" for the business. Compare the cloud era.…
