I worked for a startup in the 2021 hype cycle that went bust You'd probably know the name. Sometimes I still think about the conversation that I had with the founder one day during lunch me: hey dude what’s our plan for monetization him: I have no idea, we’ll figure that out one day. narrator voice: they never figured it out Unfortunately I think a lot of startups still operate like this thinking they can figure out monetization later and spend their VCs money until then. That's 1 way to operate, but I think there's a better way. Put more buy buttons on the internet. When I started Memelord, it was just a daily newsletter of new memes and I charged $6.9/mo. People told me it was stupid to even charge. Well, it paid my rent. And showed proof to VCs people would pay for a meme marketing software who then gave me $3M to grow it. Start charging immediately. Even if it's $6.9/mo. The first dollar is the hardest. Might as well make $6.9
