This is exactly how I feel too. I really just want a model that is focused solely on being the very best for software engineering -both front and backend. That, plus a separate model that can run my life with computer use, scheduling, etc is the dream.

I think Astra is absolutely amazing but I'm back to 5.6 for software engineering. This is the first time I feel like this is a genuine regression on OpenAI model release for my day to day workflows. Might even actually write down my thoughts about this.
