Atlassian builds native coding agent access into its platform

Atlassian is getting very serious about coding agents. Your coding agent can now use context from your codebase, Jira, and Confluence to understand the work it's doing. This is huge because you no longer need hacks, API parsing, or computer-use to browse Jira. Agentic access is now native to the platform. By the way, you can control what your agent can access, review their work, track sessions, and measure their impact.

Agents should know better. With Jira, they do. Today we’re launching governed agent loops to move the SDLC from one-off sessions to always-on execution: → Code Context for semantic codebase understanding → Agent loops to automate the path from backlog to PR → Standards to set guardrails every agent must follow → DX to measure the real impact on your ROI Stop managing sessions. Start scaling the loop.
