This is not the only AI doom scenario or even the primary one imo. Setting aside catastrophic misuse, my primary doom scenario is much more successionist flavored: self-replicating swarm intelligences that rapidly displace humanity bottom-up.

The critical components of the AI doom scenario are: (1) a single AI lab, (2) takes a commanding lead through recursive self improvement, and (3) embeds their products throughout society. This is not happening and I think a year from now it will be *obviously* not happening. https://t.co/bjrBU13DPl
