We’ve seen ISPs and telcos unjustly censor domains and even entire TLDs. A big carrier recently deemed the entire .𝚝𝚘𝚘𝚕𝚜 gTLD is “sus” so they broke every TLS handshake, and thus, all websites on it. Vercel now has another tool in fighting these blocks: SNI encryption.
Encrypted Client Hello (ECH) is now supported on Vercel CDN. ECH protects visitor privacy by encrypting the domain name sent during the TLS handshake. Network observers see 𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚌𝚎𝚕-𝚎𝚌𝚑.𝚌𝚘𝚖 instead of the requested hostname. https://t.co/Ryc2kwnD3b
