“Creator” in the social internet era is ~ when The Post Is the Product (the format is native to 1 platform first) Everyone else is an Artist / Craftsman of some other trade - creative or professional - and they post for reach, sales, brand, & cultural capital (and for fun). Not just identity semantics, bad to confuse the two!

in a world where social media visibility is unfortunately required for deals and opportunities, it does feel like we need to drop or redefine “creator”. almost all new filmmakers, comedians, painters and more are essentially forced to “distribute” their art through social media.
