the trick here is to buy a domain on a registrar that gives you a cheap first year discount, and the transfer it to a registrar that has a low base renewal fee - best of both worlds ask your agent to do it

Holy shit, I just realized Namecheap and most popular domain registrars basically double your price at renewal. Buy a domain for $10, pay $20 the next year. I thought this was just how domains worked until I switched to Cloudflare. Never go back.
