Ex-SpaceX engineer @scottgmorton says one of the biggest keys to SpaceX's success is Elon Musk's willingness to make massive bets on his team. Elon asked his engineers to build the catch tower before Starship had ever even flown, with the goal to catch it on the very first flight. The consensus inside the company was that it was crazy. But on Flight 5, the vehicle was caught. In hindsight, Scott says, making that bet so early was the exact reason they got there so fast.
