Undergraduates applying to McKinsey have to pass a new test: spend 10 minutes talking to an AI avatar that mimics a client. The conversation will be watched by partners and associates to see how applicant performs (do they listen? did they pick up key detail?). Test is meant to reflect “80% of the scenarios McKinsey consultants might encounter in their day-to-day work.” One example AI avatar is the mayor of city asking for advice on a new construction project.
