I'm all in for AI making my life and work 100x easier, but I also don't believe in AGI. I think humans have an overdeveloped sense of hubris about our particular flavor of intelligence. Slow symbolic reasoning isn't the universal measuring stick. Have you watched a dog read the emotional temperature of a room? Lightning fast and incredibly accurate. That's a wildly successful evolutionary outcome. We just don't count it because it doesn't produce tokens.
