Hyperscaling is internally chaotic in ways people do not talk about enough. The culture doesn't have time to solidify. People arrive from other companies with strong opinions from very different cultural contexts. Getting that to cohere while you're doubling or tripling headcount every year is extremely hard. Some companies wipe their tears with their dollar bills and figure it out. And some see it all falling apart like a house of cards.
