a startup is a bundle of unresolved assumptions pretending to be a company. product, market, team, timing, distribution, culture, & financing. several of these can look settled right up until they aren’t. that’s why the emotional volatility is rational, cuz the underlying object itself is volatile. one week you learn something that makes the future look enormous & the next you learn something that invalidates six months of work.
