you can theoretically outsource almost all emotional labor to ai now incl stuff like reassurance, validation, perspective, conflict rehearsal, & maybe even the feeling of being heard through voice interactions. that’s a pretty remarkable shift for the human psyche. this was extremely expensive before because it took real depth & time with real emotional costs & a real human on the other end, now at least the baseline is entirely commoditized.
